• The best time to book your newborn session is around 5 to 7 months pregnant to ensure I'm available when your little one arrives. These are done within 2 weeks after delivery, sooner the better. Please contact me for more information regarding this session and what you should prepare for. PLEASE CONTACT ME WITHIN A FEW DAYS AFTER DELIVERY SO WE CAN SET UP A DATE/TIME FOR YOUR SESSION. IF YOU CONTACT ME 2 OR MORE WEEKS AFTER  BIRTH, A SPOT CAN NOT BE PROMISED!

• The style of newborn photography that I specialize in is lifestyle sessions. Rather than stiff, posed newborn shots, I love to capture the relationship between the new baby and his/her parents and siblings. This doesn’t mean that I won’t take individual photographs of the baby and capture some great detail shots. I am happy to incorporate any ideas  you might have! Feel free to incorporate any special family quilts,  heirlooms or baby blankets that you would like to use in the photos. Newborns are unpredictable and this shoot is all about them. Please do not worry about your baby crying or needing to eat during the shoot, newborn sessions are purposely longer to allow for plenty of breaks, feedings and even diaper changes. It's usually a good idea to try and feed your baby right before the session so they're sleepy and content. 

• The Fresh 24 session is for those who don't want the raw birth pictures but want pictures right afterwards or even the next day. This session will be scheduled within 24/48 hours of the baby's birth and the session will take place in your hospital room. These pictures are meant to capture the emotion and love that you have for your new little one. Usually mom has had time to shower and change out of her gown and baby has been bathe and wrapped in something else other than the hospital blanket. This is also a great session to book to capture siblings meeting the new baby for the first time.  Please note most vaginal deliveries are discharged 24 hours after birth so please call me soon after so we can get started. 

• Why birth photography???? Besides your wedding day, the birth of your child is one of the most important day of your life. That life changing moment when you hear that first cry,  the tears in your eyes as you finally meet this little soul that has  been growing inside of you for 9 months. These are moments that only happen once. You never want to forget this special time! While plenty of dads and family members snap pictures of the baby after birth, having your birth experience professionally documented allows you to relax and enjoy this special time. To know that I'm there capturing everything for you from start to finish! From that first cry, dad cutting the cord, meeting their sibling or great grandma for the first time, even footprints and first feedings.
